Expressions

Expressions is Mitchel's third installment to his collection, "found," and it highlights the strength, beauty and benign nature of queer expression. Four pairs of photographs are set in contrast to one another to discuss the nature of societal expectations on gender. Mitchel pairs these four sets of photographs with four news stories he wrote in response to the ongoing attack on the LGBTQIA+ community. The combination of these mediums enforce the importance of queer visibility, positive representation and storytelling. Through Expressions, Mitchel hopes to empower others to play with how they express themselves to the world and to destigmatize those who 'dare' walk the line of societal expectations.
